Evgeniy G. Rybakov, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Colorectal Oncology at A.N. Ryzhikh State Scientific Center of Coloproctology, Ministry of Health of Russia (Moscow, Russia)

Between 1990 and 1996, E. Rybakov studied in the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, Ministry of Health of Russia. After graduating from university, he underwent a clinical internship at the A.N. Ryzhikh State Scientific Center of Coloproctology. After its completion in 1998, he became a junior research fellow in the Department of Colorectal Oncology.

In 1999, Dr. Rybakov completed his fellowship at the Robert-Rössle-Klinik in Berlin. After defending his thesis in 2001, he became a research fellow in the Department of Colorectal Oncology.  

In 2003, E. Rybakov was awarded a Science and Technology Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation for developing a strategy for surgical rehabilitation of patients with rectal cancer.

In 2008, he defended his doctoral thesis entitled “Diagnosis and treatment of anoperineal cancer”.

Since 2011, Dr. Rybakov is a head of the Department of Colorectal Oncology at the A.N. Ryzhikh State Scientific Center of Coloproctology, Ministry of Health of Russia. He is a board member of the Russian Association of Coloproctologists, executive secretary of the journal “Coloproctology”, member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the journal “Colorectal Disease”.

Between 2010 and 2014, Dr. Rybakov was a national representative in the European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP); currently he is a member of the ESCP Trustee Board.
